Do people who are Rotherham based think the pitch will be playable on Saturday, with all the rain?

I would be surprised if it is because it was all messed up last Saturday and barely playable and it’s rained all this week. We will be desperate to get it on but it will be nothing but a paddy field !!

We went to Yorkshire Carnegie back in 2014, winning the lowest scoring game I can remember 6-0.

I remember that match well ? Before the match John Dudley was stood at the front of the stand with a pint and a fag ! Oh dear we thought Dudley’s not playing today, but he was, how Rugby has developed since then !! Thinking about it the time scale doesn’t add up ? It must have been a much earlier encounter with Leeds maybe the one where 3,000 travelled from Rotherham ?

It’s going to be an old fashioned Arm Wrestle tomorrow, don’t think it will be called off for rain ? last time the ground was too hard. It will be a slog !

Poor show by the club yesterday, to be playing a club from Bristol, or anywhere for that matter, and postponing the game at 1pm is amateurish to put it mildly. It was obvious that the game was in doubt, a request for an official to get down to the Ground should have been made earlier. From the outside, it looks like they gambled on the pitch thawing, and it didn’t.
The comms out of the club was equally poor. Many people contacted via X to ask the question, none of them received a reply.  No apology either for the late call off.

The thing is it happened last year as well !

In friendly games are yellow and red cards not acted upon? Sheffield were given a yellow card and a red card but 15 players remained on the pitch the pitch.  ???

Yes they were allowed to keep 15 players on the pitch at all time  despite their indiscretions !

The game was much more competitive than the score line suggested ? After conceding a sloppy first try Rotherham broke away and scored two try’s from our Aussie Winger, three more followed although we weren’t dominating the ball, but at this stage it looked all over  !
Second half began and Sheffield knocked us back and put us on the back foot, before the very techy Zak Poole dove over and scored, he was a slimmed down version of the one we had ! and was well up for the game. Sheffield pack looked quite a bit bigger than ours but somehow we also ended pushing them backwards ! The extra intensity shown by Sheffield in the second half with very hard running and slick passing eventually was matched and then surpassed by Rotherham who had to raise their standards to compete. Some very slick try’s followed with the second half full back looking very dangerous and a player that stands out amongst some excellent new players. Another new player appeared in the second half, an Aussie apparently and played stand off and took over kicking duties despite fooling us by wearing the number nine shirt ! We have definitely recruited some pace and match winners this season but I also think the very large squad will bring its own problems ?

Due to illness, having an operation and then convalescing I missed Every Game last season, the first time, has a supporter and Player, apart from the Covid season, since 1959 / 60. I hadn't Driven my Car since last August but now I've been given clearance to drive again.
I've been on a few short Journeys and feel Great, so come the beginning of the Season I should be at Clifton Lane for ALL games.
Just have to re-new my Membership Card now and it will be all systems go.

We look to have signed an excellent Squad, with plenty of Experience and Quality, so I'm looking Forwards to another successful season.

Welcome back Winger 14 I think people have tried to contact you but you have obviously kept a low profile but aware that you had been viewing the board !
It’s been a bit quiet with one of the most prolific posters been dormant ! You’ve a lot of pie to catch up on ?

During looking at some of our sites there are a couple of players not mentioned in our squad. Harry Chubb, being interviewed on a training video and Xavier ? being posted on a Titans post.

he looks like a good “catch”
