Match report from a Rosslyn Park perspective.

https://rosslynpark.co.uk/match-reports/rosslyn-park-v-rotherham/

Nice to know we are a physical team. Here’s me thinking Rugby Union is a physical game.

What a performance. What a result.

Momentum is building but remember the next game is the only one that matters.

We did win at Rosslyn in late 2002 by 83 points to 7 in the 4th round of the Powergen Cup in the year we reached the quarter finals, losing 30-11 to London Irish.
However this is our very first league victory over them away from home, and all the more impressive on a 4G pitch.

A tough game but as you say, a great result.

All we have to do is concentrate on our own performances and results and everything else will take care of itself.

Full time Leeds Tykes 14 Sale FC 19

A late (79th minute) try from Sale FC seals a 3 tries to 2 win at Bramhope. Sale FC up to third, two points ahead of Roth but have played 2 games more.

A Sale win at Leeds tonight will take them above us.
I can’t see them losing at Bramhope and for me are a major threat.
I think we have enough to beat Stortford and the side picked looks really impressive.
Yes Bishops have improved but I fancy us for the bonus.

I have to agree with you White Rhino

I am told the ref. arrived at 1pm and called it off which is I have to say, disgraceful. I tried in vain to contact my friend who told me this having had a wasted journey.

Considering the distance Clifton have to travel (and I have no idea whether they were already here or not) and of course our own supporters, Makes this late call even worse.

I did gather that it has to be the match referee who makes the call so it begs the question “Why did he only arrive at 1pm?”

Not a good look at all.

One final thing I would like to say with regard to the views of several people saying that Leeds wanted it more. I disagree with this but the energy tank was depleted and frankly from our side we could have done with the Christmas break coming after the Sedge game which represented the truer halfway point of the season.

Leeds are not a better team than us, neither are Dings, as reflected in the league table, but at any given time in this league any team can beat any other.

So we move on, lick our wounds, hope the lads and all associated with the club rest up and enjoy the Christmas break. Then we can look forward to building on the great platform that has been set.

The best is yet to come.

Merry Christmas everybody. 🍺🍺🍾🍾

They set the tone by playing it at Headingley for a start. Why? To have 1,000 people rattling around at such a big venue ( capacity for League is around 21,000 I believe) is soulless. The attendance in the Rugby Post shows as 1,024.
Now a full Headingley is very good. I’ve been there to watch the other code with my stepson who is a Hull KR season ticket holder and it was a good atmosphere . Only issue is that with a large crowd it’s an absolute nightmare to get away from.
All their other games are played at Bramhope these days,

I read an interview in the Yorkshire Post that refers to a 5 year plan to get back to the Championship. Well good for them but Headingley is too big a venue.

Leeds is absolutely not a Union city and half or more of that crowd must have been from Roth.

Scant consolation I’m afraid. Kick the ball away too often.
How many pens did we have that didn’t find touch?
Surely we knew the size of the pitch?

Poor result I’m afraid it has to be said.

As you say Winger still top but we butchered a great chance today. Even more important Callum went off injured.

That’s the full time score Winger. Wheels fallen off.

3 tries to 2 in favour of TJ’s

Park scored early but then TJs took over. It was still 5-0 at half time but in that half TJ’s were held up a number of times over the try line.

They then got three tries in the second half and held on despite a binning for their no. 17 5 minutes from time.
