Titans Chat / Re: Roth v Plymouth Albion latest scores

What a result and what a game. Took me back to the Jonny Wilkinson kick. I don't think I breathed from when Lloyd dropped into the pocket until the final whistle.

Our pack was totally dominant throughout. The defence was outstanding - especially those last few minutes. Keeping a top side out, when giving a penalty would have lost it for us, was a monumental feat of effort and discipline.

Isaac was outrageously good again; crucial conversion he stepped up for and the run at the end to get us in DG range. Jackson was crucial on a number of occasions. And what a shift Ali Donkor put in. Xavier made some impact from the bench playing out of position. But overall it was a proper team effort. Well done all.

To put it in perspective,   believe Plymouth scored an average of 5.76 tries per game against all the other teams they have played this season; against Roth, they averaged 1 per game.

For me, it's not a question of whether Lloyd can play 10: he can.  It's that he is so good in the centre.

Blackheath were good and deserved something out of the game.

The referee was awful. A number of the penalties he gave against us were just wrong: their player fell over into one of ours and he gave high tackle. The obstruction - we could see John's (ball carrier) back with 2 of their players in contact , nobody from our side near. When their player held our lad's shirt to stop him making a tackle, the vociferous Blackheath supporters behind us were saying, "Don't know how we didn't get a yellow there."

Was always hard when 9 and 10 were both missing for much of the game. Hope JB is back: he is vital to the rest of the season. Is Corben still about?

Great fight back to secure the losing bonus point and it felt like we might have got the draw. Well done all.

Great win. As an Old Moseleian, I'm always a bit on edge in the Moseley games.

Excellent team play once again. What a performance from Isaac in horrendous conditions for a full-back. James Norman's try was very well worked.

Well done all. March is going to be pretty crucial.

As I recall, the Plymouth away game hinged on a decision: the ref gave us a penalty in kicking range close to the end, which would have put the game fairly safe in our favour. I think he was 'overruled' by a touch judge who had been chuntering at our bench earlier. The ref changed his mind and gave them the pen which won the match. Difficult to blame the ref. We know from the days when Lionel Spooner was running the line, that if his imagination tells the ref he saw something, how can the ref say he didn't?

Moseley pushed Plymouth pretty hard as well; not going to be easy on Saturday.

Semicolon for me - but that's being pedantic.

Job done on Saturday with something to spare, so not surprising that we seemed to be less intense 2nd half. I didn't think we looked as sharp once JB went off.

Lloyd had a great first half.  Travis was very impressive again. New 10 looks handy (and big).

Well done all.

Do people who are Rotherham based think the pitch will be playable on Saturday, with all the rain?

Yes, Agree with posts above - great performance in tricky conditions.

Big positive for me was Morgan Veness; impressive as always around the pitch, especially in the mauls, but also pretty accurate at the lineouts. Seems to have shaken off the inconsistent patch with throwing that he went through before Christmas. In contention for MoM for me, but you can't begrudge Callum ( congrats again on the record - many more to come).

Isaac awesome again under a really slippery ball. I thought their 15 had a good game too - looked really comfortable  under the kicks.

Defence impressive throughout, but especially the last few minutes when we had so many people playing out of position.

Well done all.

Thanks for the info, Rothman. After my post yesterday, I looked at the Bears squad and saw that none of the Clifton team for today are listed among the 63 Bristol players named.

Looking back to the away fixture, it looks like only 6 of Clifton's starting 15 for tomorrow, played down there.

Wonder why that might be?

Yes. Strongest team we have at present. Should be a good game.

Anyone know when Callum and Ellis might return?

Have paid my entry and let Tony know.  Does it start this weekend or the next full weekend after?

For those of us who are no longer based in Rotherham, how soggy is the pitch likely to be with all the rain recently?

Not used the app but searching NCA rugby gets scores updated from time to time. Not perfect but better than anywhere else.
