The burning question we should be asking is why we were so dominant in the first half and turn in a shocking performance in the second

Awful decision making, need more patience on the ball, poor kicking, too many box kicks and Titans need to be reminded that they are allowed to tackle the opponents. A game lost!!

I am not going to blame the officiating.

First half we were the better team and should have been more than 11 points ahead. our problem being we rush to score too much in the last 10-15 metres. Rather than being patient, recycle and wait for the gap. I feel we threw 2 tries away.

second half we came out well, camped on their line and looked like we were going to score to go further ahead. I didn’t quite see why but all of a sudden they broke with the ball and ran the full length to score. So instead of 18-0 it was 11-7. Our heads seemed to drop at that point and we fell apart. Credit to Cambridge - they capitalised and went into the ascendancy whilst somebody threw the self-destruct switch for us. their long distance try was ridiculous. We kicked away posession when we should have kept it - then their winger proceeded to sprint 70 metres down the middle to score. It was like the schoolboy game where no one wants to tackle the big lad.

So a shocking dy at the office. lets get over it - we will do ok in this league. We won’t win it this season. We need a couple of old ‘steady the ship’ heads and build for next year.

So forget it now and lets see what the trip to Candy brings next week.

Sorry, I meant awful decision making by the players not the officials. I might also add that we do not appear to be playing as a team.

Not your post Vade, one higher up says we were only beaten by worst officiating. I thought we were beaten because we fell apart in the second half rather than it being due to officiating. I knew what you were saying and I agree. we will be fine in this league and it is a platform to build. The margins are so tight between teams that anybody having a bad day will get beat

Our build up play just before their try was brilliant, and deserved a try for us. If we had scored then I feel the result would have been completely different. I also feel too many chances in the first half were squandered. This league appears to be have all the teams evenly matched. Loughborough, who struggled in their early games appear to have got their act together. Small margins are the difference between a Win and a Loss. Unless we can maintain our dominance within games we will struggle. We need a win next week or the rot may set in. Caldy away will prove another stern test for the team. We need to find the way to win quickly

No need to panic yet. A couple of wins and allwill be different again. Is it 6 points to the top of the league. everybody must be feeling similar pressures. I am looking forward to going to Caldy

I agree with what has been said, maybe the week off didn't do us any favours. The lads looked off it. It was a pretty good first half from us, if we had been 100% clinical then we would have been at least 4 tries ahead at the break, unfortunately we lacked composure to finish off the moves. Poor second half but I would say we are nearly statistically safe in this league and we have many more wins to come so I am not worried one little bit. 4 better passes / catches and we score 4 more tries so we are making chances we just need to start to capitalise on them again.

Credit to Cambridge they looked very good, their 12 was very handy as was their no 2 and their wingers. In my opinion one of the better sides I have seen this year. They won that game fair and square and probably took one of their biggest scalps in their history, the mighty Rotherham Titans at Fortress Clifton Lane.

This is a great league and I love being back to regular meaningful rugby,
Onwards to next week.

Agree with the sense of what a lot of others have said.  Wild passes at crucial moments cost us the game.  It has happened in other recent games too.

We were well on top and playing very well until we gave them and easy try.  From that moment on, I can only remember Cambridge making one handling error. They were clinical and finished well and we didn't get a look in.

We were on top in the set pieces and were dealing with their maul reasonably well.
Actually there was an earlier turning point - they started very well and almost scored. We stopped them short of the line and turned it over. That was the point when we took control; if they had scored then, they may have dominated the whole game.

We need to make more of our good patch by being accurate with that last pass.

We played some very attractive rugby and the pie was great again, so well done all.
